General description:
This equestrian property, sheltering at
present about fifty horses- mares with
their foals or simply in foal,
stallions, horses put on dressage or
harnessed- is a place which can change
the life of people wishing to go into
exile (at least for part of the year) in
the sun of Andalusia, the region bathed
in sun and having the greatest number of
hours of sunshine per year in the whole
of Europe !! In fact, the possibility of
running a country hotel (agrotourism)
whose profitability is excellent, so
great is the demand of especially
national tourists, but also
international, throughout the year. This
is the most interesting aspect for a
couple, still young in body and mind,
wanting to take on a professional
activity in the south of Europe taking
on the wing this offer in the hotel
trade/business which the sale of this «
Cortijo Andaluz » represents.
Between Algésiras (extremity of the east
coast of Spain from where you leave to
cross the straits, out from Gibraltar,
facing Africa that you can see from afar
and more precisely Morocco with its port
Tangiers of intercontinental dimensions)
and Cadiz, an Andalusian town, the
secular cradle of artists, both painters
and singers, this equestrian property is
a little paradise with multiple facets
and with the vocation of satisfying
nature and Andalusian folklore lovers
but above all those who wish to escape
the stress of the great European towns
and live not far from the Atlantic
beaches, half-retired, reparing body and
mind. Here, at Manzanete, all is peace
and freedom, as the true poets say, and
even the day-visitors have notice dit.
The Cortijo is situated astride the
communes/Municipios of Barbate and Vejer
de la Frontera ; near Dehesa de
Montenmedio, a four-star delux hotel,
with its famous golfcourse and
especially its equestrian installations
where is traditionally held at the
beginning of the year the Sunshine Tour,
an equestrian tournament of world renown
which brings together the best
showjumpers, but other disciplines are
honoured throughout the year.
The Cortijo is an Andalusian
construction dating from 1895 and renewd
with taste and respect for tradition,
preserving the typical character of
these buildings completely covered in
dazzling white. The main building called
« San Francisco » is built around a
central patio and includes 7 double
bedrooms with bathroom, all decorated
simply respecting the Andalusian country
tradition. San Francisco can welcome 14
people which can go up to 20 people
(couples with children , youth outings,
etc…).
The interior patio is a convivial,
flowered place where it is possible to
spend happy moments in the sun,
relaxing, or else in the shade of two
orange trees, according to the season.
From the patio there is access to 6
bedrooms. The 7th bedroom has its own
access from the garden. While
departments 8 and 9 are in fact suites
each with their private terrace and
garden and a kitchenette.
A very big living room which has a
television receiving all local, national
and international channels, a Hi-Fi
installation, a library with books for
adults and children, a play area for the
young, a fireplace and a recently fitted
up bar, in sum a very convivial place
where guests may relax after a day of
tourists visits, nautical sports, riding
or walks in the surrounding countryside.
In the living room extension there is
the dining room embellished with very
old Andalusian furniture which gives the
place an unique stamp. This area remains
at the disposition of guests outside
meal times as it is so appreciated.
The professional, modern and new kitchen
is used to prepare breakfasts.
The whole Cortijo is endowed with
central heating and all bedrooms are
air-conditioned. Wifi is diffused over
the whole property.
Outside a richly wooded, flowered garden
may be fully enjoyed (some essences are
more than 300 years old). Extending over
5000 m2, this haven of peace and
happiness is the privileged place of
nature lovers. The garden has a play
area for children and a swimming pool
facing the hill on top of which the town
of Vejer de la Frontera is perched in
all its whiteness. A pleasant path going
through paddocks for horses, ponies and
donkeys, leads to a spectacular viewing
point (observatory).
The land uniting all activities relating
to horses as well as the equestrian
structures themselves extends over
28'000 m2. The stables are composed of a
19 horses barn, and 3 big boxes for
mares. These horses are worked on a
traditional paddock in sand 35m by 75m
and a picadero allows exercising the
horses vaquera/cowboy style or
bullfighting/rejoneo style.
Not far from the stables are situated
kennels (dogkennels) which can contain a
dozen occupants in modern areas,
respecting the most severe standards as
far as veterinary sanitary rules go.
A safe car-park, sheltered by blooming
trees and clumps of flowers is also at
disposition for the inhabitants of the
Cortijo. There is space for about twenty
vehicles, including lorries and trailers
for the transport of horses.
